On my birthday, Christmas Eve 2014, Paul Caplin asked me to marry him. YES BAYBEE!!!

It wasn’t an overnight thing: we’d been together for five years. We love being together. Everything felt right about this union and the next step seemed so natural. We wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

Fast forward to January 4, 2016. We married on the beautiful, uninhabited island of Isle à Quatre, located at 12.57 degrees north, 61.15 degrees west, 160 km west of Barbados, in St. Vincent & The Grenadines, a multi-island state in the south of the Caribbean archipelago.

Nineteen of our dearest friends made the trip over to celebrate this wondrous occasion with us and I would like to thank each and every one of them for helping to make our wedding day the best day of our lives. To those equally beautiful people who wanted to join us but couldn’t: you were in our thoughts and our hearts and you were there in spirit.

I never take my life for granted. Each of us makes the life we choose. I choose to be happy, as I always have. I love my life and I am grateful for it every moment of every day.
