The Story of Z
Zeeteah Massiah was
born on the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados, the first of
four children. When she was just five years old, her family
moved to London, England, where she grew up.
Zeeteah started
singing almost on the day she was born, and it wasn’t long
before the music industry started paying attention to her. Her
first recording was a reggae version of the Jackson 5 hit We
Got A Good Thing Going for Trojan Records, after which she
landed a major singing role in the hit London musical Little
Shop of Horrors at the Comedy Theatre in Mayfair.

Hit Records
In the early 1990s
Zeeteah signed a recording contract with Union City (a Virgin
label) for whom she recorded several dance tracks. She soon had
a major hit with Slide on the Rhythm, which soared to the
No. 1 spot on the American Billboard dance chart.
After signing a new
record deal with Virgin Records, Zeeteah recorded two new songs,
This is the Place and Sexual Prime, both of which
were UK chart hits. In 1996, Zeeteah was shortlisted for the
British entry for the Eurovision Song Contest with A
Little Love, and made it through to the UK finals.
